We need your support for the Juneteenth press conference addressing the devastating effect of Columbia University’s expansion and supporting Senator Cordell Cleare’s legislation to repeal it! Here are SOME of our asks:
- We call on Columbia to attend a public meeting with the community to answer our concerns.
- The community deserves a response to the letter written by Reverend Dedrick L. Blue from the Interfaith Commission For Housing Equality in February that addressed the annihilation of West Harlem.
- The community needs complete transparency from Columbia regarding their real estate portfolio and all planned acquisitions.
- Columbia should turn over the Fairway property to the community to be an Uptown economic generator connected to the Dyckman waterfront, providing jobs, business opportunities, and workforce housing.
- We want Columbia to cease its relentless expansion! It is time to hold the university accountable for decades of discriminatory practices!
